I have always loved The Red Balloon “Le Ballon Rouge” a 1956 French fantasy comedy-drama written, produced, and directed by Albert Lamorisse. I grew up reading the book and was smitten with the images of the boy and his balloon and how the balloon became his loyal friend. This kid’s fashion editorial pays homage to the story with a nod to classic French school age style with a modern twist.

Our editorial Le ballon de l’amitié  tells the story of a little boy and a little girl who are alone/lonely, each with their balloon. When they meet each other they’re happy and tie their blue and red balloons together to create a purple one in celebration of friendship, fashion and color.
